About this experience

Kim Bong Carpentry Village in Hoi An has been celebrated for over five centuries for its legendary woodcarvers, who once built royal palaces, merchant mansions, and seafaring junks. This creative masterclass brings the timeless spirit of Kim Bong into a comfortable, modern atelier. Working with fragrant, golden Vietnamese jackfruit wood—renowned for its fine grain and excellent carving resilience—you will learn proper chisel grips, mallet work, and relief gouging. Choose from classic Vietnamese lotus petals, geometric ocean waves, or minimalist leaf patterns. You will carve clean bevels, texture background surfaces, and apply an organic protective beeswax seal. You'll depart with two bespoke hand-carved coasters that make an unforgettable coffee table statement.
