About this experience
Vietnamese hand embroidery reached its artistic zenith under the Nguyen Dynasty in Hue, where master embroiderers crafted sumptuous royal dragon robes, lotus banners, and courtly tapestries for the Imperial City. This intimate atelier workshop opens the door to this aristocratic handicraft. Working on high-quality pre-stretched unbleached European linen, you will explore vibrant spools of genuine Vietnamese mulberry silk thread, revered worldwide for its natural luster, high tensile strength, and rich light refraction. Your instructor will guide you through classic court stitches: satin stitch, split stitch, stem stitch, and delicate French knots. You will embroider an elegant imperial lotus blossom or bamboo branch motif. When finished, your piece is elegantly mounted in a bespoke natural bamboo embroidery hoop ready to display at home.
